It’s been awhile since my last Girl’s Guide and I’m so sorry! I’ve been working around the clock to get my first ever novel ready for launch by the end of May. I’m so excited for my book and if you have no idea what I’m talking about, you can read all my about my novel, A Girl’s Guide to Chicago here.

My Chicago friends, warmers days are coming and I’m really excited to share with you some fun late spring and summer guides. I hope you will use my guides to enjoy Chicago with your girls all summer long. I’ve been wanting to write this Girl’s Guide for a while because although I’m not a huge beer drinker, I do enjoy a refreshing beer on a patio or a simple night of pizza and beer with the girls. So, for when you are craving a few beers here are my top favorite picks of where to go with the girls for a nice cold brewski.

The Best (Girl-ish) Places to Grab a Beer

Band of Bohemia

The fanciest brewery in Chicago has got to be Band of Bohemia. If you love Victorian decor, velvet couches, and beautifully upholstered chairs then this is the place for you and your girls. Brunch is a must and pairs perfectly with one of their beers on tap.

Band of Bohemia
4710 N. Ravenswood Avenue

Gene’s Sausage Shop and Delicatessen

Gene’s Sausage Shop is literally a hidden gem in Lincoln Square. Many people do not know that this shop actually has a great rooftop. Who doesn’t love a rooftop? On a warm summer day, there’s nothing better than a great German beer and a sausage. Don’t forget to order the potato salad, it’s so delicious and a must.

Diversey Driving Range

Diversey Driving Range? Well, not exactly the driving range. However,  just next to the driving range during the summer months, is a little beer garden. It shares the kitchen with Bacino’s Italian Grill. There’s plenty of loungy garden chairs to relax in as you enjoy a nice cold beer. I love to walk the lakefront with my dog, Bella, and then come over here to have a light beer and enjoy the sunshine.

141 W. Diversey Parkway

Happy Camper

If you want a pizza night with the girls, one of my favorite spots is Happy Camper. The pizza is amazing and the whole vibe of the restaurant is so much fun. Who doesn’t love a pizza and beer night? Pizza always sounds like a good idea. Oh, and I almost forgot if you love dancing, they also play really great music as well.

1209 N. Wells Street

Best (Girl-ish) Spots to Grab a Beer

ERIS Brewery and Cider House

ERIS is brand new to the brewery scene in Chicago. This hip new spot is the place you go when you’re hungry for some great food but you also want a brewery type vibe. Do you have a gluten allergy? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of options for you here as well.

ERIS
4240 W. Irving Park Road

The Maproom

If you and your friends are looking for a cozy, hipe-vintage vibe, then you have to check out The Maproom. This cool spot is a coffee bar during the day, turned bar at night, with over two-hundred different types of beer. You can meet your friends, order a round of beers and browse through a huge variety of travel book. It’s the perfect place to plan out your next girl’s getaway, or dream about all the places you want to go.

The Maproom
1949 N. Hoyne Avenue

Navigator Taproom

Navigator Taproom is ideal for those of you who like to try a variety of beers. When you enter the bar, you receive a card and then you can help yourself to whatever you like on tap. You can do a few tasting or a normal size pour. It’s up to you! This bar is also BYOF (Bring Your Own Food).

Navigator Taproom
2211 N. Milwaukee Avenue

Howells & Hood

Make the most of Howells & Hood all summer long, because this restaurant is closing at the end of summer, due to new ownership of the building. I just had to include this spot because after shopping or exploring Michigan Avenue. This is the best spot to grab a beer or their giant patio.
