A year ago it was hard to imagine that I not only would finish writing my first novel but it would be published, printed, and then I would have a launch party at one of my favorite hotels in the city to celebrate. To everyone who came out and supported me, it truly means so much. I really enjoyed having a chance to sign copies of my own book (eeek!) for my friends and family and also meeting some new faces.
I’ve talked a little bit about this over on my Instagram, but for those of you who don’t know, I’ve always dreamed of writing a book. I had the idea for a long time to write about my “adventures in Chicago” because I’m so passionate about this city and I thought it would be fun to write a story about what it’s like for a young girl to move to the city. So, one day I just started to write about my experiences, and slowly I turned my experiences into an actual novel. I thought to also make it a “guide to the city” of sorts would be unique and different and a fun way for those who read the book to explore Chicago.
A Big Thank You!
I want to thank my awesome sponsors who were so generous to donate amazing gift cards to my launch party. When I ask them to donate they were all very excited that they were mentioned in the book and loved the idea of raising money for Dress For Success. So, a big thank you again to…
- Summer House Santa Monica
- POPS for Champagne
- Beatrix
- The Hampton Social
- and to my dear friend Andy Hasdal (one of the best realtors in the city) for donating a gift card to Restoration Hardware.
Also, I want to thank Dress for Success for partnering with me and attending my launch party. It means so much to me that they took the time to come out and to celebrate with me, and thank you to all my guests who brought additional raffle tickets. We raised just over $500, which is so awesome!
I want to also thank The Drake Hotel for letting me host my book launch in the Palm Court, you really helped me make my book launch a night to remember.
I hope everyone who came had fun! Please let me know what you think of A Girl’s Guide to Chicago and remember to leave a review on Amazon.com or Goodreads.com!
I’m so grateful to my dearest friend Heather, I couldn’t have sat at my signing table without you. You were so amazing and so supportive!
Love all my amazing friends who came out to celebrate with me!
A big thank you to my Mother-in-Law for helping to sell all the raffle tickets!
My best friend, my love, and my biggest supporter, my hubby MC.
Wendy from Dress For Success. Thank you so much for coming!
